However before this amount was Rs. 30,000 (thirty thousand rupees) fixed but from this year of April month it had been now increased. So according to the new rules and regulations the intercaste married couples are able to get the 50 thousand rupees from April 2014. According to the officials the couples living with each other from one year is eligible to get the scheme. The eligible couples of West Bengal state are able to get the inter caste marriage incentive amount on their joint bank account. Also in the eligibility criteria one of the person from both (husband or wife) must belongs to the scheduled caste / scheduled tribe (SC / ST) category and one person from both (husband or wife) must belongs to the non-scheduled / non-scheduled tribe (NON-SC / NON-ST) category which means from the general caste.
Through the increasing amount of incentive for antar jatiya vivah yojna the state government of West Bengal want to encourage and promote the inter-caste marriages through which all citizens can get the right to live with equal way. The state government of West Bengal had provided total one hundred and nineteen (119) the incentive for inter caste marriage couples but they had received the amount of 30 thousand rupees. Those couples were given this scheme benefits before the amount was increased for antar jatiya vivah yojna. The amount of this scheme will be given through the bank account payment. Also the couples must be living with each-other from one year only then they can apply for it.
Terms and Conditions to Apply for Scheme
@=> Both (husband / wife) must be having the citizenship of India and having their permanent address in West Bengal state.
@=> One of the persons (husband or wife) must belong to the scheduled caste / scheduled tribe category and other from general.
@=> The scheme is applicable for the first marriage of each person (husband and wife both), second marriage has not given scheme.
@=> The couple must be living with each other from least one year. After a year of marriage couples can apply for the incentive scheme.
Process to Apply for Inter Caste Marriage Scheme WB
@=> The eligible applicants can visit to their nearest project officer cum district welfare officer (PO cum DWO) or in the office of District Welfare Officer (DWO).
@=> Candidates will have to get the application form through the authorized person and have to attach the photo copy of marriage certificate which must had taken from concerned registrar.
@=> Couples also need to attach the copy of their caste certificate for scheduled caste after attesting it through the authorized person.
@=> Applicants also have to attach their certificate for non-scheduled caste / scheduled tribe / other backward class for one of the spouse.
@=> Attach the two joint photos with each other and one photo of marriage time. Applicants also have to attach their address and age proof for both.
@=> Candidates also will need to attach the self declaration form with the application form and the claim is not the matter of right it is a scheme.
