According to the Motor Vehicle Act 1988 of Section 9 (A) (i) each person can go for the renewal process of his / her driving license. The applicant must be having that particular class and category license to drive the vehicle in a public place. The citizens have the right to renew their DL in Karnataka state within five years after expiry. According to section 8 (1) (i), the applicant can go for the renewal in the office of that licensing authority from where he had got it. The candidates can visit that regional transport office or additional regional transport office where he/she is having a permanent address or running his / her business. The applicant will don’t need to get any type of no objection certificate (NOC) from other authority for issuance and renewal of the license.
The applicants can renew the DL of Karnataka within 30 days after the expiry date. Candidates will have to get the application form Form 9 which is available through the official website of https://transport.karnataka.gov.in/english.

If any person’s age is above 40 years he/she should submit the fitness declaration form in Form 1 along with the medical certificate in Form 1A. He/she should attach three passport size photos and a copy of the driving license in Karnataka state. If the applicant is going for the renewal of license within one month after the expiry date then have to submit the process fees of Rs. 50 in the Karnataka RTO office. If any candidate is going to apply for renewing his / her DL after the one month he/she will have to pay a late fee of Rs. 100 along with for each year’s late Rs. 50 as the application fees. The years will count from the date of expiry, not after the one month in case of late more than one year.
Apart from the mentioned above for the PVC card renewal candidates have to pay Rs. 215 as the process fees. The candidates can visit the nearest licensing authority / to the office of Karnataka state along with the complete documents as for age, address and identification and can submit them with the application form.
